Skin Cycling 101

Skin cycling is the process of rapidly bringing healthy skin cells to the surface, while simultaneously exfoliating away dead skin cells that are already on the surface in the way of this new skin. This coupled with giving your skin periods of much needed rest in cycles results in a synergistic endeavor that completely transforms your complexion. Much like rest days in a workout program, cycling from exfoliation and toning to rest allows for all three to be more powerful than if each was done on it’s own. 

To cycle your skin effectively, and with the least amount of skin irritation, you will need to use the following products Night Repair, Exfoliating Toner Pads, and Hydrate Serum

How it works: 

Night one: Retinol Night (Night Repair

Night two: Retinol Night (Night Repair) 

Night three: Exfoliating Night (Exfoliating Toner Pads)

Night four: Rest 

* Repeat *

Be sure to use your Hydrating Serum in the AM after cleansing during this time to keep from drying out your skin. 

If you start to get really good at this, and - more importantly your skin is able to tolerate it - you can move your Exfoliating Toner Pads to the morning, and use your Night Repair Serum 5-6 nights per week! However, we  only recommend this for our oily-skin professionals. All other skin types can continue to use the formula above until they reach desired results. 

The last thing to remember is to listen to your skin! If your face begins to feel like your skin barrier may be beginning to get impaired -it feels red and tight - back off your retinol and toning pads to allow for more rest days in between your cycles. Pain is not gain in the realm of skin care.
